Charlebois Glass Fire February 1958

While searching in the Guardian, I came upon this page of the Guardian reporting the major fire at the Charlebois Glass Co. at the corner of Bannantyne and Hickson on february 1958. I lived in that area and remember quite well this company going back to the 40s and 50s. As the article says, the damage where in the minnilon dollar range. I often wonder how these fires get started  arson, revenge, neglect, you name it.

That's right, the name was Consumers Glass Co. Not sure if it is the same name today and if they are still in operation. I visited that plant during my working years. They must have/are employed many Verdunites.
