St Willibrord School

Can someone please tell me when St-Willibrord School (Boys) was torn down. I remember it early 80's I think but need confirmation. I saw a play called Joe Beef there by David Fennarrio and someone told me that it was torn down before (I know the girls school was but not the boys).

would appreciate a reply. Thanks a lot.

Jo

Recognise this: .Well that became this: ...many dances were held in thr basement of this church,.and I Remember the 'Generation Gap' playing in that hall.......with Joe's version of Louie Louie........          also Remember going to the many Church Bazaar's they held there, as a little kid those were fun things ,to catch a fish in the old washtub filled with water & you were supposed to 'hook' a fish & win a prize.Impossible to not win a prize as you could drive a car through the hook on top of the floating wooden fish.......hahahahaha & in case you were not terribly adept with manual dexterity,a mysterious helping hand would come from behind the curtain to help 'hook' one of the fish,.....so even the very little kids were expert fishers...........hahahahah ..This next shot is of the old St Willibrord's school right at Rielle & Verdun Avenue and this next one is of the other  high school StWillibrord's behind the grade school ..........................Have Fun & Remember Verdun....................

Thanks Les for the pictorial history of St. Willibrord's. For many of us, this was the foundation of our education, guidance and expectations. The day to day activities come back when I look at the different windows that represented each grade/class.

I wouldn't trade a day of that experience and the VC website provides daily reflections of those special years.

Thanks for continuing to provide a special ride down memory lane.

Yes, I know the Simmons family and Anne has two brothers, Eddie and Jay Simmons. Anne and Jay live out west, Calgary and Eddie last I heard lives in Ontario.
