Subtract 12 to 15,000 living on Nun's Island today  and  you get an idea of what a baby boom kind of town Verdun really was.

Regardless of these posted numbers for Verdun's population,./.........I seem to recall that 99,000plus was  registered on this sign (both signs ) the one as you came over the 4th av bridge,............and the one on Lasalle Blvd,.....I Remember the pop. approaching the 100,000 thousand mark,............Whether those were accurate numbers or not ,I don't know,.....but I'm very certain that those were the numbers,............wish I had a photo from those days,...... I also have developed a Big Mistrust' of any information form  Govt' sites & many Museum sites,............  because we've all seen right here on Verdun Connections ,examples of 'mistakes' made by many supposed Fact Based ,organisations.................................We've posted photo's from plenty of sites, and have found put that they were wrong..............but without an actual photo of the sign on Lasdalle Blvd ( from those 68-72 years) then we are held to ransom of the 'facts' put forth by institutions.........................Yikes !!!!                                   Have Fun and Remember Verdun

These figures come from our society (SHGV) archives wich come from various publications including the City of Verdun. I agree Les that we must be vigilent but until I see different figures from reliable sources, I stand by these figures. Guy
