Montreal in October

My brother and I will be visiting Montreal in October and staying at
the Queen Elizabeth Hotel from the 5th to the 9th. After looking over
our old haunts in Verdun, we want to see as much as possible of the
mountain. Other than that we are open. Any suggestions for the
limited amount of time left?

The last couple of times we visisted Montreal, we too stayed down town.  We really enjoyed wandering around Old Montreal, and dining in the wonderful restaurants there..the food is excellent.. Judy
