It's almost 4 oclock Montreal time,...........Imagine what the kids are feeling now,...getting so close to Midnight ...........and of course Santa's visit........ Remember how excited little ones get,....... We used to open Our gifts right after my Mom got home from Midnight Mass, and then we tried to stay up all night long & play with our new toys & stuff, Christmas morning was a riot ,with that pile of new stuff (in some cases new to me.......that's code for a hand me down,.like skates..........hahahaha) When you got older ,you made the trek to Midnight Mass,......I can Remember walking home from StWillibrord's with my Mom, while a light snow was happening, and we would be making the first footsteps in that freshly fallen snow,.& Wellington Street ,would be Quiet, with all the Christmas Lights shinning on the snow.....................          .........Not sure if I kept the $money destined for the collection plate or not,.........too many witness's at a MidNight Mass................hahahahahah                    "Merry Christmas"  .....(take care of your families & friends)

We believe, based on historical data and more than 50 years of NORAD tracking information, that Santa Claus is alive and well in the hearts of people throughout the world. Santa Claus is known by many names, but his first recorded name was Saint Nicholas. Historians claim that the history of Santa starts with the tradition of Saint Nicholas, a 4th Century Christian priest who lived in the Middle East in an area of present day Turkey. Saint Nicholas became famous throughout the world for his kindness in giving gifts to others who were less fortunate. Typically, he placed gifts of gold down people's chimneys - sometimes into stockings. It may be that the Santa we know and love emerged from the legacy of Saint Nicholas. Clearly, Santa's basic approach to gift giving is strikingly similar to that of Saint Nicholas. What we know from history is that the tradition of Santa Claus and Saint Nicholas merged. Could they be the same person? Only Santa Claus can tell us for sure.

We celebrated a little early up here in Comox.  My girl kidlet came over (laden down with Christmas presents I might add) on Friday and has just left to catch the ferry back to Vancouver (has to work early tomorrow!).   Thank goodness it was beautiful and sunny yesterday, but those winds they are a-howling and the rain it is coming down in sheets right now.  Hopefully the ferries back to Vancouver aren't cancelled.......or you know what that means.....she'll have to turn around and come back up here for another day or so......hehehe.   And thanks to MaggieMcK, Les_F, and all the members that make up our family away from home.....thanks from the bottom of my heart.     Cheers.

I hope she makes the Ferry Mom45 (Linda),.........it's now blowing here like crazy,....it seems almost as strong as any of last weeks 3 windstorms,...some streets around here today have lost a few more trees,...and there'sjust yellow tape around then warning motorists,......like we can't see a Tree laying in the Street........hahahahah but hopefully we'll see the yellow tape 2inches wide, but miss the Oak Tree 3feet in Diameter,.......... The beach as fantastic waves on it today ,......and there rolling in with no end in sight,...........it looks great,.........but like you say Linda, those Ferries can cancel anytime,...genrally the problem is not on this side(as the terminals ,are somehwat sheltered,) but on Vancouver Side (Tsawassen at least),..is very open,.....and our Super Class Ferries act like big sails ,and can't dock easily,................It was very rare years ago ,with the smaller class ferries ,that they ever cancelled a sailing,........mind you the trip in the smaller ones ,.could turn out to be a fun ride,....Yahoo.......slpish splash,. your car would get soaked with the open decks of the day,,,,,That's when it was Fun...........................................................                                   "Merry Christmas"........enjoy your family & friends,...

Les. Isn't that amazing, that so many of us have the same memories. I am not Catholic, but did like going to Midnight Mass at St. Willibrods. And yes, we anticipated the light snow falling, it being very quiet, and lights shining all over the place. It was truely a spiritual feeling. WOW. What memories we have stored up. We are just a bunch of lucky Verdunites.
