Les_F   This evening we had thunder and lightening.....ever exciting!  But our little pooch ran and hid under the bed, poor thing.   Cheers.

That's unusual to have both,.Thunder & Lightning,...for us anyway,.....i love those storms,.....but the poor pooch ,your right ,especially after just coming off a week long ,fireworks, going off at all hours,......Seems odd because we never did the fireworks thing for Halloween ,back east,.......but it's prevalent here,.....always several arrests,..and this a few bad injuries,......but the pets are terrified all week,..........Did you get as much rainfall as we did? or maybe you just caught the tail end of it,..it's now heade Winstons direction,...but may just stay closer to the coast,........Mudslides on the Hope-Princeton,they spent 27 hours straight ,.to re-open the road, and get the mud & debris off it. A few people here had their basements flood,.....we were Ok (must be the clean living).................hahahaha ...............oh oh , here we go again,........Guess those IOU's in the collection plate, are DUE...............................hahahahaha

Linda. We have a psycho cat that lets us know a few minutes before there is going to be a storm or lighting or earthquakes. She starts slinking around the house about 3 minutes before anything is going to happen, then about 30 seconds before it strikes she whips under the covers on our bed. Same thing if anyone comes to visit, she dashes off to our bedroom, sometimes growling, or making a sound like she is barking. What a cat. Of course she thinks I am her best friend....

We have been getting the rain steady for the last 3 days. We have had 6inches in less than those 3 days. Had over 2 inches just yesterday. The whole state is in a disaster mode. We have been lucky compared to other places in Washington. We have so many creeks in the western portion of the state that evrything just floods. We just got a break for a few hours, and that helps. The rains is suppose to start again here shortly and go thru till next week. Will keep you posted. Winston

Les. One of our downspouts was just gushing over really bad, so last night I got the ladder out, in the dark, with a flashlight to clean the leaves out. Thought I had it made. Got home this morning and it was still gushing all over the place. Got the ladder out, getting soak to the bone. Lo and behold, after jamming a plastic stick trying to get it cleared, I found a rubber ball stuck in the pipe. My grandson has hit it up there in the summer, and beacuse there was so much rain, it floated all the way to the drain pipe. Works good now...

Hi Winston,......the winds will also come with more rain,if it's the back end of the same storm that we got here,......today is clearing ,and some blue sky out there, now before Our normal winds & rain of November start up again,..I will have to go out and put things away till, spring (luckily spring can be here early in the year) and Thanks to your experience I will check the eaves ,once more in case of a surprise blocked down spout, ( a la your grandson's rubber ball)......can't hurt to give it a quick once over,..even though I did clean them out 2weeks ago: Remember your 'Donner Party' experience,.well be thankfull all the rain you've gotten wasn't snow,......... Here's a morning shot of MtStHelens,.....the sun is illuminating the clouds around it quite nicely,...so maybe you'll be spared the wet stuff,.....as it looks pretty nice up on hte Mtn. (relatively nice I guess).......in anycase I haven't posted the Mt St Helen's Volcano cam for a while,......so have a look http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/volcanocams/msh/   .....................Have as good day & keep those boots by the door........hahahaha

Morning,   It's bright, clear and looks like the sun is peeking through the clouds up here this morning, but ya just never know.  I think the thunder and lightening we had yesterday is only the 2nd time I have heard/seen this out here.  But it's cold like a bugger outside.   And yup, Gary, our island out in paradise is pretty romantic but I figure it's because all you Verdun guys help make it this way!!!!   Cheers.

Well tonights news ,mentions that We have now had over 175mm ,of rain so far this November, breaking some sort of record,......& it's only the 13th,.... YIKES.......................hahahahaha   the forecast,Lot's more 'heavy' rain for the next two weeks,.with a chance of it slowing to just showers & maybe some sun breaks ,next weekend.....................Keep those outside drains free of leaves and stuff,................. It 's fortunate it's not the white stuff,.cause that would be a considerable accumulation,...........Again we get ready for the return of the Pineapple Express,...............at least it is mild temps ,right now anyway: How is it in all your 'neck of the woods'  ??

Here in the Halifax area of Nova Scotia the present temperature is 10C /50F. Presently at 12:25 AM it is windy and rain is due to begin overnight with possible thunder and lightning! It is supposed to rain most of the week with a high of 14C /58F.   Weird weather for this time of year but I am not complaining because I don't like snow!   Dianne

Les...our normal rainfall for Nov. is about 6 inches. Normal rainfall up to nov 12th is 2.25 inches. we have had 9.33 inches so far, and counting. It may not be as bad as 1996, when we had so much rain, and also alll the melting snow. But we are getting pounded with wind and rain. So many creeks in Washington and Oregon that even highways are being washed out. Lord help us....winter hasn't even started.....dirty bugger.....I am going back to bed and cover up my head. It is like that poem.....She jumped in bed and covered up her head, and I jumped in beside her.  It is time to hibernate...Winston
