Watched '8 Below' a movie adapted from a Japanese film where a team of
sled dogs were left behind in Antarctic to fend for themselves through
the harsh winter months. Compelling story because it is based on a true
event.
However nowhere does it compare in realism to 'The March of the
Penguins'. How these three foot 50 pound flightless birds actually
survive 70 degrees below zero and 100 mile per hour winds is
astonishing. Not only do they survive but mate and care for baby
chicks. The DVD is more informative because of the special features of
how they made the documentary.
Second Avenue.
Verdun had some nasty winters I remember, but of course nothing as
brutal as the south pole. Burrr!

I have a fascination in bounty hunting from my days watching cowboy
movies in the church basement on the corner of the 5th Avenue lane. I
think Steve McQueen played one in the 70s but I do not recall the
title. Also one of my favorite films is 'Jackie Brown' which I have a
copy. As you may remember, Robert Forester won the academy award in
J.B. for best supporting actor for his role of Max Cherry the bail
bondsman. Btw Pamela Grier is very hot as the prisoner being bonded.
