Dog, Bounty Hunter

New Dog episodes begins tonight A&E, Tuesday 21st. He plans to have
celebrities on for the ride this 3rd $2,000,000+ season. In one reality
TV episode, intends to marry his voluptuous live-in sweetheart.
Interesting character. During his younger days as a hard a** biker
riding with the Devil's Disciples he was convicted of a felony, and
while doing 5 years hard time, decided to change his evil ways when
released. Which is a good thing.
He councils and goes to bat with the men and women he arrests, and I
get the impression they listen to him.
Anyway, not everyone's cup of tea. It can get violent as he goes into
the lion's den occasionally. Like Goose Village before WW2 -- police
keep out!

Dog got his man in tonight's episode in San Francisco. He'd been after
this criminal for 3 years. He over dresses the part, but that is who he
is. Jessie Ventura is supposed to ride with him soon. TV is a wasteland
for the most part. A few good shows like Oprah, History Channel, A&E,
HBO, sports (Red Sox).

How can an ex-con improvise himself as a bounty hunter, seems strange to me. Can anybody decide to do this kind of work without any kind of training and with approval from authorities. My skeptical mind is at work here and I suspect that some of those apisodes are set ups with the some kind of approval from the criminals involved. Are there any bounty hunters in Canada. We should alway be skeptical about these TV programs which are produced to make money for all concerned. The debate is open. What do you think? Guy

Guy, I have to say I had the exact same suspicions. However after
tuning in for many episodes I have since become a believer. On one
occasion Dog and company were physically attacked by the family of the
criminal not too far from where I live. Last night's show he had the
San Francisco police as back up. In California he legally needed a
licensed bail bondsman or a cop in on the bust. I assume because Dog
was a convicted felon he cannot get the B.B. license or carry a gun. He
uses pepper spray.
Good question.

This show is all about a glorified skip tracer for a bail bond company who posts bonds for minor infractions, most of the people have less than five thousand dollar bonds on them for smoking pot and other crap, he's never after a notorious murderer or rapist who skipped bail, just some poor slob who forgot to go to court
