I am still getting emails from all over hells half acre asking for money, or saying I've won money. I'm sure others get these also.
Well, on December 15th, I received one of these from West Africa from the Yao Family. Sure enough when I checked with VC there was a new member with the name Yao.
Coincidence? Could be I guess, but I would surmize these people join these message boards and add the members to their email lists.

Hi Mom 1945 Linda, The last few weeks I get about 30 emails a day. I put a block on most of them but they keep coming. About the UK lottery I was one of four winners. I am glad I know one of the other four. These other people who died and I am the only next of kin I just wish they would send the bloody money and stop bothering me. If they got my email address why can't they get my home address. But the new year is coming so just enjoy enjoy the time. Wishing you all the best in 2006 for health,prosperity and happiness. If this happens again, please send a "message to the managers" this is the first I have heard of this. I know that as soon as we join a public message board we subject ourselves to mailing list harvesters but we try to boot these bots as quickly as possible. Unfortunately a lot of legitimate members still do not post even an initial message so it is very hard to weed out the bots. I still hope the benefits of this group far outweigh the nuisances.
Thanks MaggieMcK, Hopefully this should help weed out some of the unwanted solicitations. I noticed that you said "message to the managers", is there a specific place that I should look for to send such a message? Only place I see is "Manager's Notice". Thanks. Cheers.
On the opening page of VC, to the right of the "Welcome to Verdun Connections", there is a box with "Member Tools". In that list is a link that says "Send Email to Managers". This will send it directly to all managers.
