Joan Lindsay

Would anyone know where Joan Lindsay is. I think she married Allen Scully. Also looking for Gus Taveralis, Vivian Whybro, Audrey Dawe. All Galt Ave. (between Wellington & Verdun Ave.) people in mid 40's. Sure would be great to hear about them

Hi Jacqueline,   My brother-in-law was Kenneth Dawe(deceased) lived on Galt Ave. and had a sister Audrey Dawe. If this person is the same one you mention she was married to Frank Bussey and had a daughter Beverley and a son Wayne. Audrey would be in her eighties or pretty close to that age. Last I heard I believe Beverley was living in St. Bruno. That was many years ago.   Reggie Paine

Hi Reggie...Audrey Dawe was one of my good friends. I remember Ken when he came home from Japan. Can you tell more about Audrey and where she is now.Jackie

Hi Mawsey 1,   I am sorry I misled you about Audrey Dawe. I checked with my sister and she told me Audrey married Leslie Reed and not Frank Bussey. She met Audrey at my brother-in-law's funeral which I did not attend as I was out of town on business and was not notified of his death until I returned. That was a few years ago and I found out Audrey lives in Toronto. Ernie Dawe is a minister in Keswick, Ontario the last I heard and my sister still thinks he is there.   Reggie Paine

Hi  Just wanted to let you know that Joan Lindsay was a name I heard growing up on Galt Ave. I lived there until 1976. My mother Joan Ball and Grand Parents Jessie and John Buck lived at 433 Galt Ave. Right next door to Mrs Coveduck and the Bailey sisters Vicki who had polio and Patsy. I also believe that the McCormicks lived on Galt Ave. as well. If any of these names ring a bell please let me know.

I remember your Mum very well, used to go on Bus trips to Plattsburg
with her and went to school with her. Ask her if she remembers
Margo Allen-Third Ave.
Have a great day.

Hi Anne. Your mom's maiden name was Buck? Does that connect you at all to the writer, M. Laurel Buck? I have read her book, 'Stream of Memories' which makes reference to the "cold water flats" in Verdun and have been looking for a copy of  "Roots Beneath the Pavement" ,a Tribute to Verdun By One of Her Reluctant Children 1930s 40s  to read.

Hi Maggie,             The name M Laurel Buck does not seem to ring a bell but right now I am in the process of doing my family tree. If the name should appear I will let you now as growing up we did not have contact with all family members.

Hi    I believe you are correct who Joan Lindsay married if I am not mistaken they lived near the Douglas Hospital where her husband worked as an electrician. Joan Buck was my mother who passed away suddenly on Feb 28 1994. Robert Buck is my Mother's older brother who still lives in Ville Lasalle. He married Audrey Rankin and has a son Stephen who lives in the states and a daughter who lives in Alberta.

Joan Buck was also a friend of mine. I see her brother once every summer when I get to Montreal. I sent him, verdunconnection, so he should be on line as well. Audrey is ill and has Alzeimer and is in a home. What a terrible shame. I met her just before she got too bad. He is well and hope to see him again on my next visit. Jackie Leclerc

Hi Jackie,               It's been awhile since I last spoke with my Uncle. The last time I spoke with him was when my Mother passed away. My sister and I have had a falling out with him. I am truely sorry to hear about his wife my Aunt being ill. It's only been recently that I have been trying to research my family tree. Who knows how far I will get. Please feel free to update me on my Uncle and his Wife. Sorry this message took me so long. Hope to hear from you soon.  Anne
