Hi Jackie, I'm 62 and pounding away on the computer every day. My wife complains that I spend too much time on it. But I agree with you. We Seniors have lived a lot of life and can pass on some good Verdun/Montreal/Canada stories-Walter

Jacqueline, I'm glad you brought up the subject of computers with seniors. I am 75 and have had one for the past 4 or 5 years, of course I have the advantage of my son been an engineer pragrammer who got me started on his old computer. I worked for the Anglo Canadian telegraph company in 1945 at the corner of St Fran챌ois Xavier and Notre Dame and they paid me to teach myself how to type. This knowledge was usefull all my life. My neighbor across the steet is a retired teacher who is 82 and she bought herself a computer and corresponds with her children. You are never too old. I lived at the corner of Galt and Bannantyne in the 40s. Guy

Hi Jackie,   I'm 70 and I don't know why every senior isn't using a computer. I retired at 64 and the first thing I did was buy a PC. Of course, I was using computers at work at the time so that probably helped. I've gotten a few friends interested and they can't thank me enough for it. Sure opens a lot of doors. Another of your postings you mentioned Tootsie Thompson. We were a twosome for awhile around 1950. Ever hear from her?   Art

Jackie, I think you will find that there are quite a few of the over 60 generation in this group and like the modern technolgy that keeps us in touch with our roots.

Thank you Seniors...I knew you had to be there. I find it just great to have the kids and grandkids pop in on me. I have a grandaughter who has gone to Taiwan and hope to hear from her too. Let's keep this group growing. Verdun was a lot of fun EH. Jackie

Hi there! Well I'm not a senior yet but I'm 45 and you know once you hit 40 the years start flying!  Computers really ARE a wonderful thing, I got my first one a little more than 5 years ago when I was still living in Verdun after all those years (all my life!). I proceeded to meet a wonderful man in an online chatroom and to make a long story short, we will be celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary on August 8th, I now am a permanent resident of the US and live in Virginia. My computer is now used to keep in touch with all my loved ones and friends back in Verdun/Montreal and all other parts of Canada. Yup a computer changed MY life for sure! hehe

Hello All!
I agree with you Sharon even though I've only had my Mac for just over
1yr. I LOVE it, I can keep in touch with family all over and friends. My
Good Friend just got transfered to Tawassen so this is helpful to keep in
touch also. It has helped me get in touch with friends I've hadn't heard
from in over 32yrs. Like you I'm not a Senior yet I'm a very YOUNG 27, with
yrs of experience hahaha.
