Kungfu. And all my Verdun Connection friends. Good morning from Vancouver, USA. We are now (finally) into our normal west coast weather. Rain, rain, rain. But we really need it, because it has been a very very  dry winter. Hope we all have a great week. Winston Allison

Hi from West Palm Beach, Florida where there's not a cloud in the sky & it's 76 degrees. What's going on in Montreal with the Dino Sisto vs CJAD court case? I read that Hollywood may even do a movie on it. Anyone have details?

Fresco/Walter Weather in Vancouver, Washington is matching or breaking records for 1044/1947. Highs about 92/93 degrees. Probably back to normal over the weekend. Winston Allison

Thanks Winston. Remember though you're not supposed to tell us the weather on the West Coast is good. Les doesn't want us all moving out there. Stay cool & remember Verdun-Walter

Hello everybody!! Here in Nova Scotia it is rain, rain and more rain. The weather person on ATV says we may get a bit of sun on the weekend. The poor people on the South Shore have had a hell of a time this week....Dianne

Hi Dianne, Have never seen the rain as bad as this. The weather chanel says we only  have a chance of showers on Sunday with some sun. I haven't seen the sun in 2 weeks, but we consider ourselves lucky compared to the south shore. Patsy

I believe they are known in Powell River, The base player is from Verdun his name is Glen Olgilvie we hung around together back in the early 60's.  Just wanted ask you to say hi for me if you ever come across them. Good Day! Fresco
I live on the West Coast in Powell River and if you could bring some
Employment opportunity with you for our younger Generation that would be
great. We are a Retirement Community but now need to find a way to keep the
young here as we can not depend on the Mill like they did in the old days.
Regardless newcomers always welcome here.

Hello Danny!
I didn't know of him untill lately but have now been told by a senior
friend of mine that her grandson plays with Glen. Today they were playing at
a surprise birthday party for her but she knew of it. I wrote down your name
and will pass on the message. By the way I am Maggie's older sister.

Hi Tinytina, It seems you can't live anywhere and not have somebody with a connection to Verdun close by. I seen more people that I knew from around Verdun in Calgary when I lived there than I see now that I'm living in LaSalle. Glen was very good friends with my older brother who died at 15 years old in 1967. Thanks Danny

Thanks Tiny Tina, I hope to get to British Columbia someday. Sad to say that I've only been as far west as Alberta.

Good Day Fresco!
Too Bad I lived in Calgary for ten yrs. and just got back from visiting
family will always miss them but not Calgary. Boy it has grown and is wilder
in the 12 ys I've been gone and it is so dry there. This is Heaven compared
to there and if I ever decide to make a major move again I believe it would
be back home even with all the SNOW., cause there is no plce like home. But
for now this is home as home is also where the HEART is and mine is here.

Hi Tiny Tina, I was in Calgary in 1985. Sorry to hear that it changed. The streetcar system was fantastic. I rode it past the Stampede Grounds. I liked watching the magpies which I had never seen before but was told they cause a lot of problems like flying off with spoons or anything else you put outside for a bar-b-que. I got to see Lake Louise which was something else. There were no maple trees in Calgary, I was told they don't survive the winter temperature extremes caused by the chinook winds. When you come down to it-there's no place like Verdun & Montreal.

Hi everybody, There is one thing that I would never miss about Montreal and Verdun that is this hot humid weather. This year so far seems much worse than any other recent year that I can recall.I would give anything for the temp. to go down to 10 or 12 C.  Danny

Good morning from Vancouver, Washington. The temperature today and Monday will be 100F degrees, 37C for my friends and relatives up north. Summer just started and this will be the hottest days of 2006.  I am starting to suspect this global warming is not a joke anymore. I know the hot flashes are getting hotter and hotter. Just joking about the hot flashes!!! Winston Allison

Here in Nova Scotia we have been averaging two days a week without rain and it has been raining since Friday night. The temperature is around +18 and it is so dull and grey outdoors that we have to have lights on in the house. My husband hasn't been able to play ball for two weeks due to all the rain and the field was under water last week. Only managed to plant part of my vegetable garden and have two shrubs and two rose bushes waiting to be planted. I heard we are going to have a wet summer this year. Gives meaning to the expression Raining Dogs and Cats!!   Dianne

Here in Verdun we had only 12 people in Church this morning. It was sticky and hot. If I find out who borrowed the big fan from the Church they'll find out what casting the first stone means. I guess everyone was so surprised to see the sun they stayed home to see what comes next. .After three months of nothing but rain, the weather channel says the next six out of seven days will be rain. We enjoyed snacks outside today. I had hoped to have a B.B.Q. for Canada Day but the prediction is rain again. I wonder how the St.Jean Baptiste Society arranged for sun on John Baptist day and rain on Canada Day. I know they're at the bottom of it. If not I blame them anyway. Ed

happydi2 MSN said...

Hi Ed:   Good one Ed, blame the bad weather on the St.Jean Baptist Society...lol.....   I remember my dad back in the 50's saying it was a Commie Russian plot that was at the bottom of everything bad that happened, i.e bad weather, crop failure, heaven only knows what else...he was hilarious!   Dianne

It's been very warm here,.and supposed to get even hotter ,for the foreseaable future,......and the interior of this province is stifling,......generally here on the southern tip of Vancouver Island ,we have a prevailing breeze,....which keeps it just right most of the time,.......but after susch a long wet & very windy (very windy)  winter,.we will not complain,.............Golfing time..............                                                                   HF&RV
