why do men control remotes

on the table beside his lazy boy my hubby has 6 remotes. 1  for stereo, 1 for cd, 1 for dvd, 2 for vcrs, 1 for digital cable box, yet he cannot perc the coffee. he can get surround sound for a movie, have a square on the screen for tv with the channels flashing by. must be looking for a hockey game. no one is allowed to touch the remotes. he says it is the primitive hunting urge. is this a nova scotian thing or do all men control the remote?? help patsy

Patricia. remotes are a universal male thing. I have 6 remotes, all on my side of the table. My wife has to reach over, across the lamp to get to them when I am not in my chair. When I come back to my chair. I have to make sure they are on my side of the table immediately. (OTHERWISE I GET THE REMOTE WITHDRAWL SHAKES). iT'S A MAN THING. WINSTON ALLISON

hi guys, we woman can raise children, budget books, keep appointments but i am lost if i want to play a cd. i grabbed the remote for the receiver got power, took the cd changer got power, no music. called my daughter she came over still no music. we pushed every button on both remotes, nothing, called her hubby, he said we really messed up by pushing all the buttons, told us to unplug so they would loose memory. went to wal mart bought a  portable radio with a cd player, ah music. hubby comes home and says who touched the remotes. how do men know that?? patsy

Some women just aren't following the rules.......only 1 remote allowed on coffee table.  If I find more than one, I just hide it, and he has to get up and go looking for it. Problem solved!   Cheers, Linda

Linda. Removing or hiding a man's remote is the 11th commandment. "Thou shall not touch a man's remote". You could be in very big trouble with the Man upstairs. SORRY. Winston Allison

The real reason men need absolute control of the remote is to see what
else is on.

When we girls get married instead of saying "do you take this man" it should be "do you take the remote with this man":
