Rapid Queen

The only boat that I recall going down the Lachine Rapids was the Rapid
Queen and that was before the seaway was built. I think the ship was owned
by the Harrington family in Lachine. What a sight to see. My father Jack
Whitaker came down the rapids on her a few times. The ship never went up
river always down.

as per the rapids as i was told by the old guys at the verdun warf below the guy gagnon arena is that the one of the few people who could go up and down those rapids and who was known for saveing many lives was from 1968=1985 was ART PRICE from melrose ave ,and this was a well known fact, so please ask arround and then reply .only your parents will know for sure,

I recall seeing the Rapid Queen since it got stuck in the Lachine Rapids and we could see it from nun's Island in 1946 or 1947. Perhaps someone has a photo of this incident.
