Newbie

Hi there.I am more than amazed that there is actually a group for Verdunites.I have lived here for a year now.It took some getting used to. I grew up in the west island, and lived downtown for 8 years b4 coming here.I hope to talk to you in the near future.
Tanya.

Welcome to "Verdun Connections" Tanya. I hope you can bring yet another view of Verdun to the group. A lot of us are displaced Verdunites. It would be interesting to see our old stomping grounds through the eyes of a "Newbie".

Well...let me see.My first impression was not very good at all.The first few days were spent painting. On the last day,me and one of my roomates walked to the SAQ by De L'eglise to get some rum...so we were walking down Wellington, and I smelled something funny.I asked my friend "Whats that smell?" She looked at me,smiled and said...Verdun. The people were not what I was used to seeing...I am not conceited at all...please don't get the wrong idea of me. The people that live right by me (neighbors) are very nice...although it took me a few months to talk to them.I lived for awhile in big downtown complexes...so I was never in the habit of talking to neighbors.Anyways, now there is not a day that goes by when I don't hear some 5th avenue gossip.I try not to divulge too much about myself, cuz I know how much they talk...lol. Now its a year later, and I really like living here.I am 10 minutes from downtown...sorry but my heart and soul will always be there. Its cheap, close to everything and I really love the waterfront a block up from Wellington...cannot remember the name of the street.I do yoga there, and its always so quite. In summation,Verdun is definetely underestimated and a treasure to the great city of Montreal. Tanya.
