the price of gas

hi everyone. yesterday the price of gas rose here to 93.9 a litre for reg. supreme is $1.09.9 a litre. going to give my grandaughter the $40.00 she borrowed from hubby for mothers day gifts, it came on the radio that next week it is going up to $1.03 for reg a litre.  help. our cigarettes are from $10.00 to $11.00 a pack., so hubby came up with a bright idea to stop for a bottle of wine since he uses his pickup for work and  low and behold our favourite bottle of wine jumped $ 4.50 a bottle. i would be crying if i wasn't so angry. how are your prices?? guess we have to buy a motor home and start spending winters in fla. again.  patsy

regular gasoline in Winnipeg is 84.9 most places
and I believe 94.9 for premium although I have not looked closely lately.
Cigarettes are 10.75 per pack and wine is about 9.00 for the cheapest bottle at
the liquor commission.

Gas prices here in calgary tonight are between 77.5 cents and highs of 82.5 for regular unleaded but then you can always get 3-12 cents off at the supermarkets that sell gas like Safeways and Tuesday and Wednesday it was  7 cents off the posted price cant complain.  Cigs are about $9 a pack - not sure never smoked and wine - have bought some really good Australian Shiraz  McGuiggan for under $8 a bottle on sale usually it is around $11 so loaded up four cases - just my husband drinks it and just one glass with dinner - me I am ashamed to say that I am hooked on coke could be worse it could be Pepsi - lol

My daughter in Vancouver just told me she paid $1.01/litre!  Highest price in the country I believe.  There's some truth to the saying "Highway Robbery".  Over on the island (Comox) we paid 96.9/litre today.   Cheers, Linda

Hey Kids, Gas prices in Toronto is 89.9 for regular, don't worry they are just programming us to think that 79.9 is a good price, just like they did with 69.9. I read an oil exec said something to that effect. Cigs are $7.75 to $8.00 ( but the new FIBeral budget is coming out soon ) I agree with Les, some of the taxes on gas should be removed. Les, let us know if your beer situation gets any worst, maybe Pucci and I can send you a case of quarts of the GOOD stuff, be brave my friend lol. Send us a pic when you are drinking that Milwaukee Best Lite ugh. When I first got into beer in the early 70's a 12 pack was approx $3.75 and a 24 was about $7, now I pay $18.95 (might as well say $20) for 12 and a 24 is $34. Hey I have an idea why don't we get one of our Quebec based members to apply for a sponsorship grant from the feds, to study "The Migration Habits of Verdunites", pre 1977, I'm sure we could get $50 million or so and divvy it up between all the members here, lololololol. Take Care all

Hey Gerry , I'm in ..I'd like to apply to be the Westcoast Representitive(sp?)    I would also leave the final price tag Open - Ended ......(like gun registry)  cause 50 million doesn't go as far as it used to......and in studying the 'Migration habits'  , I think we would be remiss in our duties if we didn't also study & report on the 'Eating & Drinking Habits' as well....Surely a report on how we weined ourselves off of Smoke Meat , Spruce Beer, Steamies.Pizza's , Dillalo Burgers ...........only to be perked back to life, when we are fortunate enough to have a 'Scrap or Morsel' of food from our Natural Habitat thrown our way.............hahahahahah   ps:  I don't see the Fed-ex or UPS delivery truck here yet with that Case of Quarts you PROMISED  ..........hahahahah

Gas in Vancouver, Washington $2.13 reg unleaded per gallon would equal .77 Canadian per liter. Cigarettes $37.00 a carton in Oregon(just across the bridge from us), would be equal to $5.00 Canadian. per pack No sales tax and no stinking GST. My Doctor told be to give up wine, women and song. I didn't want to give it all up, so I chose one. I gave up singing. Winston Allison

Hi Gerry,
I received this web page from a pal of mine.
www.premierliar.com
its a web page dedicated to ousting Dalton McGinty after the budget fiasco he made on Tuesday.
Not only are gas, beer, liquor taxes going through the roof. Now, we have to pay for health care. I have not had an increase at work and I don't think we're getting one. I soon will not be able to afford to go to work. Isn't that sad.
Just thought you might be interested. I saw your note to Les.
Take Care, Kelly

hi linda, i received  that email also. naturally i sent it off to everyone on my mailing list. we have had 2 gas wars short lived though. one ctc gas bar was selling gas for 75 cents a litre. the line up was over 1 km long, and a radio station sold gas for 26 cents a litre one am. it took 95 mins to run out of gas. at least here in halifax and sackville area the stations are trying to help. oh for the good old days when for $5.00 you  could go crusing all night. patsy ginn ernst
