Davey P ....I would suggest you download the picture of the emblem you like & print the picture on photo quality paper & then take the Picture to a local shop (perhaps in a mall) and have them print it on a transparency and transfer it to a Shirt of your choice............Remember the picture has to be put on the transparency in Reverse , so that when the transfer is done you can read it properly on your T-Shirt..........Goood Luck Have Fun & Remember Verdun...........
These items followed me out to the west coast, a lonely cuff-link and a pin both with Verdun on them
Bim: The t-shirts are the product of our annual Verdun reunion held annually on the first Friday of December in Toronto. They are offered for sale at the modest sum of $10. and I keep buying one even though they are XXL and I am not. If you like I would be happy to send you one. I'm not suggesting that you are an XXL, although if you played football for Black & Gold, you likely are not a medium. Speaking of Black & Gold, I number of your fellow alumni come up from Montreal each year for our reunion, including Tommy Nichols and Terry Diamond (circa 1967 to 1970). You might consider attending next December. I also remember your grandmother as the registrar for Norman Dawe hockey. Incredibly, my first year of mosquito included seven players from Egan Avenue (between Wellington and Verdun). Also included was Scotty Porter, who some may remember as a World Champion Highland Dancer. If I can find a way to scan the team photo, I'll post it. Gord Gibbons
Scotty was a good friend of my brothers as he was in a pipe band and Scotty was always at the competions. On a sad note Scotty was killed in a car accident many years ago in Calgary Roy
HI GORD THANKS FOR THE INFO ON THE PARTY THE SHIRTS AND ALL.I THINK FOR THE LONGEST TIME THE MOSQUITO HOCKEY AT NORMAN DAWE WAS BASED ON KIDS FROM EGAN STREET.I KNOW WHEN I PLAYED THEY HAD ONE TEAM CALLED THE CANADIENS AND IT WAS ALL KIDS FROM EGAN. U MENTIONED TOM NICHOLS NAME,IF U LOOK AT THE 1971 PIC I PUT IN THERE OF THE BANTAM FOOTBALL TEAM I THINK U WILL NOTICE YOUR BUDDY, MY COACH, TOM NICHOLS IN THAT PIC. THANKS BIM

I must have missed the original message.. who was Scotty and which pipe band did he play with? My brother and I play with the Shriners Pipe Band here in Boston and know quite a few pipers from the Montreal area. In fact, we should be playing in Ottawa this September, I'll keep you posted.

hey bim, just got through reading my "verdun connections" as i do each day(almost). i had to laugh when you mentioned "the canadians"from Norman Dawe hockey. i had the pleasure and privelidge to have played on that team.(number 4).but cant remember when... but i remember the ..COLD..TIMES.playing out doors in several layers of clothes,and how we couldnt wait to get inside between periods for hot chocolate while the dads cleaned the rink with shovels.(.no zambonis then..lol).i lived on brown blvd,for 20 years and skating at brown park in winter and playing baseball in the summer there are some of my favorite memories.(hand me down equipement and getting my skates sharpened at the shoemaker on bannantyne(and sticks were under $10.00) . ahhhh...the good old days!!!!! john winnard
