Found this site by chance.....

My name is Lorna and I lived on Argyle Ave. and then on Rolland.  I went to Woodland School and VHS.  I have such fond memories of Verdun.....skating at the rink on Lasalle Blvd near Woodland.....dances at Dawsons, the Legion and the Y.....shopping at Sally's on Wellington.....hanging out at the restaurant that the Kafenzakis family owned across from Woodland School......fish and chips from the place on Bannantyne near Argyle......I used to hang around with....Sandy Brown.....Larry Gibbons.....Carol Kane.....Eddie Locke......these are a few names that come to mind.....Anyone know where they are now?

Hi Lorna:   Welcome to the club. I'm Larry Gibbons younger brother. Larry has been married 35 years an lives in Ottawa. They have two children and two grandchildren and are generally doing very well. I've posted two sets of photos, including one set that is now on page two and includes our home at 444 Egan Ave. That's our bedroom window with the panoramic view of the lane. If you would let me know your last name, I'll let Larry know. I recall Sandy Brown. I seem to think that she had the unique distinction of having a niece that was older than she was.   Gord Gibbons Brampton, Ontario

Hi Gord.......So nice to hear from you.......My maiden name was Reid.  Yes, Sandy did have a neice who was  older than she was.  She was from a large family.....5 girls and one boy..... (Sandy, Gail, Norma, Pearl, Thelma and Fred).  Glad to hear that Larry is doing well in Ottawa.....I'm about an hour from him....in Cornwall.  I've been here for the past two years.  I have two daughters who ar 21 and 22......both RN's and living in Connecticut.    Also....do you remember Gary Butler?  He used to hang around with us too.   Take care.......Lorna

Hi bim....I left VHS  in 1964 to work for Ma Bell.  I worked at the office on Guy St. just above Ste. Catherine.  I was a key punch operator......Went on to do the same work for CP and then Avon out on the West Island.    Its really nice to see other people from Verdun.....  My Dad sold the house on Rolland after my Mom passed away in 1982....s.....I did take a drive last year.....and its changed a lot.  It had been over 20 years since I was last there.   Take care......Lorna

Hi Lorna:   Yes, I know Gary Butler quite well. We were neighbours on Egan Avenue and I still keep in touch. I didn't make the cut for his first wedding, but I was best man at his second. He since has a new companion, although I don't think they will rush into marriage. I will be seeing Gary in two weeks for dinner. Gary is living in Toronto (Oakville).Gary has two sons, one in Montreal and one in Toronto. If you look at the photos (second page) for Verdun reunion your will find a photo of Gary, (No. 8) I believe. Gary is the is guy cradling a quart of beer like a loaf of bread. It's not the most flattering photo, but that's what happens at reunions. You mentioned something about Barry Ross Fish & Chips. The photo on the Home Page is the former international headquarters of Barry Ross Fish & Chips. I took that photo in December 2003, the day before Montreal got a foot of snow.   Gord Gibbons
